Repairs for TVs damaged by power surges, load shedding spikes or lightning strikes, at homes and businesses.
Power surge damage tends to look like one of the following.
These faults are usually the result of one of the following, all connected to a sudden change in voltage reaching the TV.
We start by checking the power board and protection components for visible and measured damage. Blown fuses, damaged rectifiers and other failed parts on the power board are replaced with new components. If the surge has affected other boards, such as the main board or panel driver, we test those separately and let you know what we find before proceeding. Surge damage after storms or outages affects business premises as often as homes, and display screens and till-point TVs get the same careful check.
Surge damage is often diagnosed during a call-out, since a technician can check the power board and look for obvious signs of damage, such as blown components or a burning smell, on site. If the fault needs bench repair, we collect your TV, repair it, and return it to you. We will always tell you honestly which route your TV needs once it has been checked, rather than assuming in advance.
