Repairs for TVs where the audio plays normally but the screen shows nothing, at homes and businesses.
This is one of the more distinctive faults and is easy to describe.
Since the sound is working, the fault is isolated to the video side of the TV, which narrows things down considerably.
Because sound is working, we know the main board is at least partly functional, which helps narrow down the fault quickly compared with a TV that will not switch on at all. We check the backlight, the video signal path and the panel connections in turn to find where the picture is being lost, working through each stage methodically rather than swapping parts at random. Once identified, we replace the specific failed component, whether that is a backlight strip, a cable, or a board level part, using new components. This fault shows up on business premises audio and display setups too, not only home entertainment systems.
A technician can often narrow this fault down considerably during a call-out, since the symptom itself, sound with no picture, points fairly directly to the video side of the TV rather than the whole unit. If the fault needs bench repair, we collect your TV, repair it, and return it to you. We will be upfront about which applies once we have had a proper look, so you know what to expect.
